Farewell and best wishes to long-time ALC Executive Director Jenny Abbott.

Jenny joined ALC in 2014 in a direct service role serving clients in our safehouse. Less than 1 year later, she became executive director, in which position she had many responsibilities and obligations until her departure in March 2025.

During her nearly 11 years with ALC, Jenny shepherded the organization through significant growth while working tirelessly to raise awareness of domestic violence and other forms of violence in Lake County.

Most recently, Jenny oversaw the 2024 launch of ALC’s Bridge homeless services program, which aims to eliminate housing insecurity in Lake County. She has served on countless local, statewide, and national boards and advisory councils for antiviolence organizations, embodying her passion for advocacy around gender-based violence and support for refugees and immigrants.

In her next chapter, Jenny joins the District Attorney’s Office for Colorado’s 5th Judicial District, where she’ll be working on sexual violence response in a role that perfectly combines her legal and advocacy backgrounds — right here in Lake County.

Please join us in honoring Jenny’s legacy as we celebrate this new phase in her journey and, as her personalized plaque from the ALC Board highlights, another step toward real, enduring change.

Thank you, Jenny!

With appreciation,
ALC Board and Staff

P.S. Stay tuned for updates about ALC’s next chapter, too!
